Approach to Therapy
| Philosophy
My approach to therapy is Bio-Psycho-Social. This means that I am
aware of how biology, psychology, and the social environment can all
combine to impact the individual, and I strive to use that awareness
to effectively work with each client.
I recognize that every person is innately different and brings a
variety of diverse strengths and challenges; therefore, I draw from
many theoretical orientations and therapeutic techniques to treat
each individual holistically and uniquely.
I desire to create an environment in which the client and I can
explore the thought patterns that affect feelings and behavior,
sometimes inhibiting growth. I believe that you already have many of
the necessary tools to heal; my role is to help you unlock your
potential for a healthier self and assist you with developing new,
healthier coping strategies.
Depending on your reason(s) for seeking counseling, it is often in
your best interest to work in conjunction with other health care
professionals, such as a nutritionist, medical doctor, massage
therapist, etc. I am happy to refer you to other health care
providers in Thurston County.
I dwell in possibility.
